Karaoke fundraisers

A proper night out with a cause behind it.

A karaoke fundraiser is not a charity event with karaoke stuck on the end. It is a proper night out where the entry fee, the drinks, the raffle and the energy in the room all go toward something worth doing. People show up because they want to be there. The money follows.

HOW IT RAISES MONEY

Entry fee is the foundation. You set the price per ticket: people pay to come, and it goes to your cause. From there, the night does the rest. Drinks and food sold on the night add to bar revenue for your venue partner. Raffle tickets sold between songs add to the total. And a good host knows how to create moments when people open their wallets a little wider.

One of the best is the challenge pledge. The host spots someone in the room who people know, a committee member, a local identity, the person connected to the cause, and makes them an offer: if the room raises a set amount in the next 20 or 30 minutes, the person has to get up and sing. The room rallies, the pledges come in, the room hits the target, and the performance after becomes the moment everyone remembers. Rinse and repeat.

A battle format adds another layer. The host puts two volunteers head to head on the same song at the same time, scored live with the crowd deciding the winner. Add a pledge to enter or a donation pool on the outcome and the bit between songs becomes another way the night raises money.

There is no single formula. Every fundraiser crowd is different. Our host reads the room and works with what is there.

HOW THE NIGHT RUNS

1
You book a venue and sell tickets.

A pub, club, function space or community venue. You set the entry price and get people in the door. We will help you think through the format if you need it.

2
We set up and run the whole night.

Our host manages the karaoke, the crowd, and the fundraising moments. Your team handles the door, the raffle, and the cause. The two things run alongside each other. The fun and the fundraising are not competing.

3
You count the total at the end.

Ticket revenue, bar take (if applicable), raffle, any pledges from the night. Pack-down done. Crowd goes home having had a great time and done something good with it.

WHAT ORGANISERS TELL US

"The room was loud from the first song. Our committee barely had to do anything because the host kept everything moving. We counted the total at the end of the night and it was more than we planned for."
Fundraiser organiser, Brisbane northside
"People who swore they would not get up were on stage by 9pm. Nobody sat it out. The host did all of it."
Club fundraiser organiser, Gold Coast

Across trivia, Music Bingo and karaoke fundraiser nights, Pick The Hit events have helped raise more than $500,000 for Australian charities and community organisations over the past few years. See the full breakdown on our Charity and Community page.
